SUMMARY:¡Globalquerque! Cross-Cultural Crossover Encore
DESCRIPTION:2 pm \nAfro-Latin Jazz Alliance YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/c/AfroLatinJazzAlliance \nFree \nJoin us December 4\, 2020 for an ENCORE performance of the ¡Globalquerque! Cross-Cultural Crossover\, presented in partnership with Arturo O’Farrill’s Afro-Latin Jazz Alliance as part of their La Paza @ Digital Village YouTube Series!   \nThe program features four past festival acts—Rahim AlHaj (Iraq)\, Nation Beat (Brazil/USA)\, Vivalda Ndula (Angola) and Nohe & Sus Santos (Honduras/New Mexico) collaborating on one another’s songs\, deconstructing them and re-presenting them through a cross-cultural lens. Chats with the artists in between songs—where some of them were meeting face-to-face for the first time after recording together—give a glimpse at the process and all the emotions that went with it!  \n#nhccnm  #newmexicoculture  #NMCulture  #20in2020 #ARTE #MUSICA

SUMMARY:Film: Cortos en Femenino Film Series: Centrifugado
DESCRIPTION:12 pm \nOnline screening will be available on the Cervantes Institute’s Vimeo channel for 48 hours\, starting at 12 pm on Monday\, December 14\, 2020.\nInstituto Cervantes Vimeo Channel Here \nFree \nInstituto Cervantes Albuquerque and the NHCC present the Cortos en femenino film series during the month of December\, a month dedicated to cortometraje (short subjects) with “[ED+C] El día más corto”—the shortest day of the year in the Northern hemisphere. Designed by Trama\, coordinator of women’s festivals in Spain\, the series celebrates the talented female directors working in this format with screenings of four very different short films—two dramatic works\, one documentary\, and one montage. \nA young man helps an old lady carry her laundry up to her house. Once inside\, she seems reluctant to let him go. The environment in which everyday life goes on always has its lights and shadows\, and appearances are often deceiving. Centrifugado\, Mireia Noguera’s first film\, is a dazzling demonstration of ellipsis and humanity. \n \n2018; Spanish with English subtitles; 11 minutes; not recommended for children under 7. \nInstituto Cervantes Vimeo Channel Here. \nCortos en Femenino Film Series:\n* Dúctiles (2018; Spain; Marisa Benito; Spanish; 3 minutes)\n* Centrifugado (2018; Spain; Mireia Noguera; Spanish; 11 minutes)\n* No me despertéis (2018; Sara Fantova; Euskera & Spanish; 21 minuets)\n* Quand j’étais petit (2015; Elena Molina; French; 12 minutes)
