Arte Para Chiquitos
Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM10:00 am NHCC | Pete V. Domenici Education Building Arte para chiquitos is a free, monthly, 45-minute program for babies and toddlers ages 0 months to 4 years and their caregivers that cultivates creativity and self-expression through the exploration of Hispanic/Latine arts and culture. Participants explore the NHCC Museum, Performing Arts Center, and engage in artmaking, music, movement, dance, drama, and bilingual story time. NHCC instructors model age-appropriate arts techniques that celebrate self-expression, build vocabulary, and strengthen both fine-motor and gross-motor skills in a fun environment. AfroMundo Festival: Literary Reading: Changing the Narrative
Roy E. Disney Center for Performing Arts: Wells Fargo Auditorium 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM7:00 pm NHCC | Wells Fargo Auditorium Presentations by Haitian-American poet Patrick Sylvain, Afro-Cuban filmmaker Aida Esther Bueno Sarduy, and Palestinian-Canadian author Saeed Teebi. Followed by a Q&A. Presentation consists of readings by Sylvain and Teebi, followed by the screening of a 17-minute documentary, Guillermina, by Sarduy. Free Community Event. Early Childhood Bilingual Storytime

Free Community Event, generously supported by NM Gas. Bilingual Storytime is designed for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers. For school, childcare, or homeschool groups; please reach out to the NHCC Librarian at amy.padilla@dca.nm.gov to find out about group options and available dates. We are unable to accommodate these groups during the Bilingual Storytime on third Tuesdays.
Colcha Community Stitch A-long
Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM9:30 am in-person 10:30 am Zoom Our Colcha Community Stich-A-Long is open to all levels of experience in an informal setting. This workshop is instructed by Annette Gutierrez-Turk. Annette has taught colcha, a Spanish Colonial embroidery style, to groups internationally and at the NHCC for many years. She is also an award-winning artist, most recently recognized in 2019 at Traditional Spanish Market in Santa Fe. Annette will demonstrate as well as answer questions.
