DESCRIPTION:NOTE: The September Arte para chiquitos event has been cancelled. The program will resume as scheduled in October. \n10:00 – 10:45 am \nArte para chiquitos is a free\, monthly\, 45-minute program for babies and toddlers ages 0 months to 4 years and their caregivers that cultivates creativity and self-expression through the exploration of Hispanic/Latine arts and culture. Participants explore the NHCC Museum\, Performing Arts Center\, and engage in artmaking\, music\, movement\, dance\, drama\, and bilingual story time. NHCC instructors model age-appropriate arts techniques that celebrate self-expression\, build vocabulary\, and strengthen both fine-motor and gross-motor skills in a fun environment. \nFree Community Event. Join us In-Person at the National Cultural Hispanic Center from September 20th – September 22th\, 2024. \nFeaturing insightful panels\, playable Latino made video games\, career advancement opportunities\, the first ever Latino Games Exhibition\, and The Latinx Game Awards\, this festival connects our community to the video game industry and plants the seeds for a culturally richer\, more mature video game industry. This event exists as an industry-wide call to action for global Latino representation throughout the video game industry. \nFor the first time ever\, this year’s event will be held in-person at the NHCC. DESCRIPTION:9:30 am in-person\n10:30 am Zoom – cancelled for September\, please check back next month \nOur Colcha Community Stich-A-Long is open to all levels of experience in an informal setting. This workshop is instructed by Annette Gutierrez-Turk. Annette has taught colcha\, a Spanish Colonial embroidery style\, to groups internationally and at the NHCC for many years. She is also an award-winning artist\, most recently recognized in 2019 at Traditional Spanish Market in Santa Fe. Annette is taking September off. Please check back next month for instructions and to have your questions answered by Annette. This month\, we will still meet in person to work and share projects. \nJoin us every month on the fourth Tuesday\, in-person at 9:30am and on Zoom at 10:30am.
