Contribute to our community ofrenda and view ofrendas created by local schools and community organizations. Decorate sugar skulls\, craft paper flowers\, enjoy face-painting\, and sample Pan de Muerte. Visitors can also enjoy food from local food trucks\, and dance and music performances from Voces de Coronado and Ballet Folklórico de Dolores Gonzales.  \nAs a special treat\, the Center will kick off the Día de Familia with a free screening of Disney’s Coco (2017) at 10:00 a.m.!  \nPlease bring a non-returnable photo or item to contribute to our community ofrenda. \nFree Community Event\, generously supported by NM Gas.

Participants explore the NHCC Museum\, Performing Arts Center\, and engage in artmaking\, music\, movement\, dance\, drama\, and bilingual story time. NHCC instructors model age-appropriate arts techniques that celebrate self-expression\, build vocabulary\, and strengthen both fine-motor and gross-motor skills in a fun environment. \nFree Community Event. DESCRIPTION:9:30 am in-person\n10:30 am Zoom \nOur Colcha Community Stich-A-Long is open to all levels of experience in an informal setting. This workshop is instructed by Annette Gutierrez-Turk. Annette has taught colcha\, a Spanish Colonial embroidery style\, to groups internationally and at the NHCC for many years. She is also an award-winning artist\, most recently recognized in 2019 at Traditional Spanish Market in Santa Fe. Annette will demonstrate as well as answer questions. Join us every month on the fourth Tuesday\, in-person at 9:30am and on Zoom at 10:30am.
