Arte para chiquitos

10:00 - 10:45 am Arte para chiquitos is a free, monthly, 45-minute program for babies and toddlers ages 0 months to 4 years and their caregivers that cultivates creativity and self-expression through the exploration of Hispanic/Latine arts and culture. Participants explore the NHCC Museum, Performing Arts Center, and engage in artmaking, music, movement, dance, drama, and bilingual story time. NHCC instructors model age-appropriate arts techniques that celebrate self-expression, build vocabulary, and strengthen both fine-motor and gross-motor skills in a fun environment. Colcha Community Stitch A-Long

9:30 am in-person 10:30 am Zoom Our Colcha Community Stich-A-Long is open to all levels of experience in an informal setting. This workshop is instructed by Annette Gutierrez-Turk. Annette has taught colcha, a Spanish Colonial embroidery style, to groups internationally and at the NHCC for many years. She is also an award-winning artist, most recently recognized in 2019 at Traditional Spanish Market in Santa Fe. Annette will demonstrate as well as answer questions. Genealogy Workshops

These workshops will provide participating seniors with the opportunity to participate in interactive tours of the NHCC Art Museum and Torreón, paired with genealogy workshops and coffee socials. On Point Dance Studio: Dancing Through the Decades

6:00 pm NHCC | Albuquerque Journal Theatre On Point Dance Studio presents Dancing Through the Decades including performances from our mini 3-year-old dancers all the way through our high school dancers. We will be showcasing different genres of dance including Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Folklorico, Contemporary and Tumbling. Our amazing competitive teams will also be making an appearance, and the teachers will also be providing a blast from the past!
