Latina Equal Pay Day
11:00 am to 3:00 pm Join us for a celebration of Latina Equal Pay Day at the NHCC. This day, which recognizes the gender and racial pay gaps that still affect Hispanic women in the workforce, will feature a Women’s Art Market, interviews with Latina leaders, bookmaking, scavenger hunts, and more at the Center. Arte Para Chiquitos
10:00 – 10:45 am Arte para chiquitos is a free, monthly, 45-minute program for babies and toddlers ages 0 months to 4 years and their caregivers that cultivates creativity and self-expression through the exploration of Hispanic/Latine arts and culture. Participants explore the NHCC Museum, Performing Arts Center, and engage in artmaking, music, movement, dance, drama, and bilingual story time. NHCC instructors model age-appropriate arts techniques that celebrate self-expression, build vocabulary, and strengthen both fine-motor and gross-motor skills in a fun environment. Genealogy Workshops
1:30 - 3:30 pm NHCC | Salon Ortega Explore your cultural heritage at the NHCC with a free genealogy workshop as part of our Siempre Creativo program! These workshops will provide participating seniors with the opportunity to participate in interactive tours of the NHCC Art Museum and Torreón, paired with genealogy workshops and coffee socials. Festival Ballet Albuquerque: Sacred Journeys V
7:00 pm Friday & Saturday, 2:00 pm Sunday NHCC | Albuquerque Journal Theatre Festival Ballet Albuquerque presents Sacred Journeys V featuring Robert Mirabal. Classical and contemporary dance combine with the eclectic music of two-time Grammy award-winning Taos Pueblo musician Robert Mirabal in this reflection of New Mexican cultures through dance, music, and spoken word. NM United Hispanic Heritage Watch Party
6:30 – 8:00 pm Soccer clinic in Education grass area 8:00 – 10:00 pm Game Time Please join us as we welcome New Mexico United soccer to the NHCC campus with an exciting Watch Party on our Plaza Mayor. Together we can show some Burqueño support as United takes on Orange County SC. The City of Albuquerque will be providing a big screen so everyone can see the game in style. Día de Familia: Día de los Muertos
11:00 am – 3:00 pm NHCC | Domenici Education Building Join us for a special day for the whole family commemorating Día de los Muertos traditions. Contribute to our community ofrenda and view ofrendas created by local schools and community organizations. Decorate sugar skulls, craft paper flowers, enjoy face-painting, and sample Pan de Muerte. Visitors can also enjoy food from local food trucks, and dance and music performances from Voces de Coronado and Ballet Folklórico de Dolores Gonzales.
