The story begins centuries ago, when the royalty of Agrabah spoke one language and the citizens another. Communication is impossible without translation—which is controlled by the evil vizier, Jafar. NHCC Torreón 1701 4th street SW, Albuquerque, NM, United States12 pm to 5 pm A Vision of History through Fresco… Mundos de Mestizaje by Frederico Vigil is a mural housed in the Torreón on the campus of the National Hispanic Cultural Center. This monumental fresco depicts thousands of years of Hispanic history highlighting diverse cultural connections between people and places from the Iberian Peninsula to the Americas. The 4,000 square foot painting is one of the largest frescos in North America. The digitized imagery of the painting ensures that this culturally significant work can be a (more...)

Once a month, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh, locally grown ingredients, fun art and movement activities for kids and adults, health screenings, cultural exchange, and live entertainment. POSTPONED: Who We Are, Together: NM Families Project Presentation for Torres & Urioste
History and Literary Arts BuildingThis event has been postponed to a date TBD. Please check back here for further information. 2-4 pm This project engaged 2-3 generations of seven NM families in testing their DNA and researching their family lineage with the help of the NHCC and experts in the field. For seven Sundays these families will present what they learned about who they are, where they are, where they came from, and from whom they descend, followed by dialogue.
