10:30 am to 12 pm A great morning of art-making for children of all ages and families of all sizes.   A visit to the museum is included in this workshop led by artist Zahra Marwan, whose work can be seen in the NHCC Art Musuem's newest exhibit, Because It's Time: Unraveling Race and Place in NM. Una Celebración de México with Antonio Reyna

2 pm The NHCC and Haverland Carter Lifestyle Group present Una Celebración de México, paying tribute to the beautiful song and dance of Mexico with award-winning, internationally renowned mariachi recording artist Antonio Reyna and a cast of talented musicians and performers. ¡Salud y Sabor! Kids Cooking Competition (Tortillas)

5:30 pm to 7:30 pm Salud y Sabor, a partnership between the Agri-cultura Network, Street Food Institute, and the NHCC, is a free evening of food, art, and entertainment aimed at providing families with an opportunity to connect around nutrition, cooking, healthy lifestyles, and culture. Once a month, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh, locally grown ingredients, as well as fun art activities for kids and adults, health screenings, and live entertainment. 4th Annual South American Folk Festival

2 pm The 4th Annual South American Folk Festival seeks to unite Albuquerque’s South American community in a day of cultural experience and connection through music, dance, and food. In addition to food vendors from participating countries, the festival will feature traditional dancers from Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, and Ecuador. Domingos en Arte: Son Como Son

7:30 pm Son Como Son bills itself as "Salsa, Cuban Style." Founded in 1993, it is unquestionably one of Albuquerque's longest-standing and most popular salsa ensembles. They play regularly to packed audiences comprising highly animated and dedicated salseros at the NM Jazz Workshop's Salsa Under the Stars series; at the Cooperage; and at special concerts, such as those at the Telluride Jazz Festival. Each Saturday is a different topic and this week, you can explore seeds and plants. Help plant the NHCC herb garden, taste some tea, and make some plant-inspired art to take home. Family Tour with Ultima

2 pm Join us for a family-friendly tour of the NHCC Art Museum exhibition, La Ultima Exhibición. All generations will gain new perspectives about art during this unique museum experience led by María Dolores Gonzales who represents Ultima’s perspective. María Dolores Gonzales is an artist and writer and runs a Spanish language immersion program in Northern New Mexico. Domingos en Arte: Lone Piñon and Lenore Armijo

7:30 pm Lone Piñon is an acoustic conjunto from Northern New Mexico whose music celebrates the diversity and integrity of their region's cultural roots. Using violins, accordion, quinta huapangera, bajo sexto, guitarrón, tololoche and vocals in Spanish, English, Nahuatl, and P'urépecha, the group has revived and updated the Chicano string band style that once flourished in New Mexico, bringing a devoted musicianship to Northern New Mexican polkas and chotes, virtuosic Mexican huapango and son calentano, and classic borderlands conjunto.
