1 pm to 2 pm National Hispanic Cultural Center Art Museum presents Saturdays in the Museum Tours every Saturday afternoon starting at 1 pm. Each tour will be different depending on the exhibit and theme. Free with NHCC Museum admission

10:30 am -- 12 pm The National Hispanic Cultural Center is pleased to offer children’s programming on Saturday mornings during June, July, and half of August, from 10:30 am to noon. Families can come to the Center for hands-on art activities, bilingual sing-alongs, outdoor activities in the bosque, and story times in the Center’s library. For Vamos al Museo on June 4th, in honor of the National Institute of Flamenco’s Festival Flamenco Internacional, we’ll work with tile mosaics in the Spanish tradition. 6 pm -- 10 pm Announcing the launch of a new summer music and dance series in the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s enchanting Fountain Courtyard, presented in partnership with Melaza Music. Spend four Sunday evenings with us enjoying live music, drinks, and the delicious Latin cuisine of Nob Hill’s Guava Tree Cafe. We have invited some of our musician friends, from the local community and outside, for lively summer get-togethers right next to the beautiful Rio Grande Bosque. Summer Institute Performances: Circo Latino

Thursday—5:30 pm Friday—10:30 am The NHCC’s Summer Institutes—Circo Latino, the Manoa Project, and Voces—are presenting performances based on the exhibit The House on Mango Street:  Artists Interpret Community and Sandra Cisneros’ book of the same name. Join Circo Latino for a stirring performance inspired by themes of family, community, identity, and home—appropriate for all ages. The young artists, ages 8-13, will present an original show featuring trapeze, juggling, stilting, acrobatics, clowning, live music, and more! Free public event; suggested donation $5

8 pm The NHCC’s Summer Institutes—Circo Latino, the Manoa Project, and Voces—are presenting performances based on the exhibit The House on Mango Street:  Artists Interpret Community and Sandra Cisneros’ book of the same name. Join the Manoa Project Teen Ensemble for a stirring performance inspired by themes of family, community, identity, and home. The fully produced original show was written and created by a group of theatre students who have trained and worked together over four weeks. $12 w/ $2 discount for students

7 pm The NHCC’s Summer Institutes—Circo Latino, the Manoa Project, and Voces—are presenting performances based on the exhibit The House on Mango Street:  Artists Interpret Community and Sandra Cisneros’ book of the same name. Join Voces for a stirring performance inspired by themes of family, community, identity, and home—appropriate for all ages.  Students from the Voces writing program will perform selected pieces from their month of intensive writing, exploring their own inner voices as well as the themes from the exhibit and novel.
