REZILIENCE Indigenous Arts Experience: VOICE Concert
Roy E. Disney Center for Performing Arts: Albuquerque Journal Theatre 1701 4th St SW, Albuquerque, NM7 pm An all-ages event, VOICE is a night of vibrant contemporary and traditional indigenous musical performances. This second annual event, hosted by hip hop artist Def-I, features multiple genres celebrating our resilience as Indigenous Peoples, and showcases the talents of artists Shining Soul (hip hop), Lindy Vision (alternative), Leela Gilday (acoustic rock), Raye Zaragoza (acoustic rock), and Ranata Yazzie (piano/Navajo songs). Festival Flamenco Internacional: Compañía Marco Flores, Entrar al Juego
Roy E. Disney Center for Performing Arts: Albuquerque Journal Theatre 1701 4th St SW, Albuquerque, NM8 pm Festival Flamenco Internacional de Alburquerque presents Compañía Marco Flores in Entrar al Juego. In this contemporary and very theatrical production, Flores manipulates space and experiments with time—slowing it down, speeding it up, and changing its direction to open up a temporary timeline from another world and trap people and objects in an alternative dimension. Flores’ first large-scale choreographic work, DeFlamencas, explored the female universe; his second creation, Tránsito, reflected his interest in looking within. From his beginnings as a dancer in other companies through the founding and maturation of his own company, Jesús Carmona has always aspired to have his creations serve as a showcase for Spanish culture. Bosque Chile Festival
NHCC Campus 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM10 am to 7 pm A celebration of food, art, and culture on the Rio Grande, presented by Bernalillo County and the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Join in the celebration of the chile harvest with entertainment, kids’ activities, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, beer and wine, a salsa competition, and chef demonstrations. New this year—agricultural education workshops and a green chile stew competition. ABQ Latin Dance Festival 2017: Timbalive
Plaza Mayor7 pm to 12 am The annual Albuquerque Latin Dance Festival, a three-day celebration of rhythm and movement, features performances by world-class dancers as well as non-competitive dance showcases, parties, and workshops. Additional attractions include dance films, lectures, and live musical performances. Friday night’s event, following Latin Dance Night in Old Town, is a fun-filled evening of salsa dancing at the NHCC. 10 am to 5 pm Celebrate the NMJACL’s annual fall festival Aki Matsuri on Sunday, September 17th featuring Japanese cultural exhibits, vendor fair, musical demonstrations, Japanese art, Japanese food, Beer and Sake tastings and more! The New Mexico Japanese-American Citizens League (NMJACL) has been hosting Aki Matsuri (trans.: fall festival) for over twenty years. The festival is the main annual event for NMJACL and serves as a venue to share Japanese and Japanese-American (JA) culture with all of New Mexico. ¡Globalquerquito! – A mini-fest for Albuquerque School Kids

This mini-fest features two of our regular performers doing short sets as a way to introduce the kids to some cool different cultures. This year the participating bands are Trad.Attack! Shoes for the Santo Niño
