Domingos en Arte: Son Como Son

7:30 pm Son Como Son bills itself as "Salsa, Cuban Style." Founded in 1993, it is unquestionably one of Albuquerque's longest-standing and most popular salsa ensembles. They play regularly to packed audiences comprising highly animated and dedicated salseros at the NM Jazz Workshop's Salsa Under the Stars series; at the Cooperage; and at special concerts, such as those at the Telluride Jazz Festival. REZARTX 2018

4 pm to 11 pm The 3rd Annual REZARTX Festival, produced by the non-profit REZILIENCE Organization, is a one-of-a-kind event that showcases the work of Indigenous professionals and organizations from across the country through music, arts, interactive activities, and more. Domingos en Arte: Lone Piñon and Lenore Armijo

7:30 pm Lone Piñon is an acoustic conjunto from Northern New Mexico whose music celebrates the diversity and integrity of their region's cultural roots. Using violins, accordion, quinta huapangera, bajo sexto, guitarrón, tololoche and vocals in Spanish, English, Nahuatl, and P'urépecha, the group has revived and updated the Chicano string band style that once flourished in New Mexico, bringing a devoted musicianship to Northern New Mexican polkas and chotes, virtuosic Mexican huapango and son calentano, and classic borderlands conjunto. 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm Salud y Sabor, a partnership between the Agri-cultura Network, Street Food Institute, and the NHCC, is a free evening of food, art, and entertainment aimed at providing families with an opportunity to connect around nutrition, cooking, healthy lifestyles, and culture. Once a month, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh, locally grown ingredients, as well as fun art activities for kids and adults, health screenings, and live entertainment.
