Annual César Chávez and Dolores Huerta Celebration: 30th Anniversary

9:00 am - 3:00 pm March for Justice: 10:00 am Fiesta: 12:00 - 3:00 pm The Recuerda a Cesar Chavez Committee (RCCC) is excited to announce the 30th Annual César Chávez and Dolores Huerta Celebration – the only celebration of its kind in the country that honors both great civil rights leaders. Colcha Community Stitch A-long

9:30 am on the 4th Tuesday of each month Our Colcha community Workshop is open to all levels of experience in an informal setting. This workshop is instructed by Annette Gutierrez-Turk. Annette has taught this art form to groups internationally and at the NHCC for many years. She is also an award-winning artist, most recently recognized in 2019 at Santa Fe Spanish Market. Arte Poquito: Arte Conmigo

10:00 am Babies and toddlers ages 0 months to 4 years and their caregivers will have a chance to explore visual arts and even visit the NHCC Art Museum. This multi-sensory program includes time for socializing and art exploration. Arte Poquito is a free, monthly, 45-minute program for babies and toddlers ages 0 months to 4 years and their caregivers that cultivates creativity and self-expression through the exploration of Hispanic/Latine arts and culture. Take a stroll along the Bosque and honor our beautiful earth through the arts. Guests will explore bats with RD Wildlife and native seeds with the U.S. Forest Service. 1:30 to 3:30 pm New Mexico Folk Dance will feature 4 weeks of traditional New Mexico music with dance classes such as La Marcha. Classes run for four consecutive Thursdays from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. New Mexico Folk Dance is part of the NHCC's Siempre Creativo program, which provides a free multidisciplinary arts program for seniors. Free Community Event, generously supported by AARP New Mexico.
