6:00 pm Colombian poet Andrea Cote Botero will read a selection of conversational poems from her books Puerto Calcinado and En las praderas del fin del mundo and will discuss with the public the role of the listener in the construction of a poetics of ruin in contemporary subjectivity. Oralidad Festival: Lara Manzanares & Joe Hayes

7:30 pm Lara Manzanares, a bilingual singer-songwriter with roots in Tierra Amarilla, will perform a joint show with master storyteller Joe Hayes. The performance will begin with a folk narration by Hayes aimed at adult and children, to be followed by a performance by the singer-songwriter. This show weaves together the past, present, and future of the oral tradition as well as the performers' passion for blending cultures and the roots of New Mexico.
