Guerrilla Opera: A Discussion with Composer/Director Nathan Felix
6:00pm A discussion with composer/director Nathan Felix about his guerilla approach to opera and staging unconventional classical music performances in non-traditional spaces and how it relates to his collaboration with NHCC. Felix will also give a retrospective insight into his process and inspiration behind his imaginative works such as '6 Pianos in Surround Sound', 'Opera on a Bus' and 'Immersive Operas'. Gale Memorial Lecture Series 2023-2024: Justin Favela
6:00 pm In collaboration with the University of New Mexico College of Fine Arts, the Center will host Nevada-based artist Justin Favela as he presents his lecture “Give It a Rest: A Latinx Artist in Repose.” The lecture is based on Favela's recently completed durational performance Reposo: A Hispanic Artist Rests For The Entirety Of Hispanic Heritage Month.
