Opening: The Bosque Gallery at the NHCC

Bosque Gallery at the NHCC 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico

The Bosque Gallery at the NHCC Is an outdoor exhibition space opening on October 23. The open-air gallery will consist of 31 panels measuring 48 inches by 60 inches each, mounted on 730 feet of fencing along the western border of the NHCC campus, facing the Paseo del Bosque Trail. In celebration of the NHCC’s 20th anniversary, the first exhibition presented along the open-air Bosque Gallery will be ¡Mira! Nuestra Arquitectura: An Architectural Journey, an architectural history of NHCC’s past, present, and future. Exhibitions at Bosque Gallery will rotate among the key program areas of the (more...)

Día de los Muertos: Home Ofrenda

Make an ofrenda @home to celebrate Día de los Muertos! The National Hispanic Cultural Center remains closed, and since we can't invite you to the NHCC to celebrate Día de los Muertos, we invite you to share the names of your loved ones in the comments on our social media to create a digital remembrance. Bosque Gallery: Community Inspiration

We hope you take a walk on the trail, west of the NHCC campus to view a new outside exhibit space. After your experience with the exhibit, go home and make something! Can you transform your outside space in to an exhibit space? 

Colcha Community Stitch-Along

1 pm Live via Zoom Our Colcha Community Workshop is going virtual until we are able to meet in person, and is open to anyone wherever they may reside. This workshop is instructed by Annette Gutierrez-Turk. Annette has taught this art form to groups internationally and at the NHCC for many years. She is also an award winning artist, most recently recognized in 2019 at Santa Fe Spanish Market. Mira, Mira On the Wall: Reflecting on 20 Years of Exhibitions – Virtual Edition

The National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) turns twenty years old in 2020 and the museum now has twenty years of exhibitions to reflect on and learn from. Mira Mira On the Wall: Reflecting on 20 Years of Exhibitions - Virtual Edition recounts a selection of exhibits that have been presented over the last two decades. Celebrating Traditions

Christmas Day is usually filled with get togethers with family and friends and if you are in New Mexico attending dances at one of the Pueblos. Holiday celebrations represent rich cultural and artistic traditions. We thought we would bring a little bit of the museum to you, the objects represented are integral to holiday festivities.
