SUMMARY:Domingos en Arte\, featuring Nosotros
DESCRIPTION:6 pm — 10 pm \nAnnouncing the launch of a new summer music and dance series in the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s enchanting Fountain Courtyard\, presented in partnership with Melaza Music. Spend four Sunday evenings with us enjoying live music\, drinks\, and the delicious Latin cuisine of Nob Hill’s Guava Tree Cafe. We have invited some of our musician friends\, from the local community and outside\, for lively summer get-togethers right next to the beautiful Rio Grande Bosque. \nAward-winning ensemble Nosotros began as a guitar trio in Las Cruces in 1994. Now an eight-member band\, they relocated to the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area in 2001 and have established themselves as one of the most popular bands in New Mexico. Combining Latin rhythms with elements of rock\, salsa\, jazz\, and cumbia to create their original sound\, they have released seven albums\, including the anthology CD titled XX to celebrate their 20 years together as a band in 2014. They have received numerous New Mexico Music (“MIC”) Awards\, including Album of the Year and Producer of the Year for their third\, self-titled album\, Nosotros\, and have appeared with artists including Ozomatli\, Los Lobos\, Etta James\, The Wailers\, and the Gipsy Kings. M.E. Schenck\, in Hyperactive Music Magazine\, said\, “Nosotros’ music is not to be explained\, it is to be felt in the pit of our souls.”\n$12; free for 12 years old and younger \n  \n
