Now under the leadership of artistic director and choreographer Susana Pous Anadón and dramatic art advisor and technical director Guido Gali\, the award-winning ensemble has become one of Havana’s most prominent dance companies. DanzAbierta tours regularly throughout the world\, performing in major international festivals and venues including Caliendanza (Colombia)\, Avignon and Montpellier (France)\, Schrittmacher (Germany)\, SIDance (South Korea)\, DanseEncore (Canada)\, and the Holland Dance Festival\, as well as Jacob’s Pillow\, New York’s Joyce Theater\, and Chicago’s Atheneum Theatre in the U.S.

DESCRIPTION:10 am \nWe’d like to let you in on a little secret. \nEach year\, ¡Globalquerque! kicks off with a free concert for our local school kids. This mini-fest features two of our regular performers doing short sets as a way to introduce the kids to some cool different cultures. \nThis year the participating bands are Trad.Attack! (Estonia) and Betsayda Machado y La Parranda El Clavo (Venezuela). \nThis year we are opening the program up to the general public. Come share some great music and the joy and enthusiasm of seeing the kids engage with the bands. We’ll be outside on the Plaza Mayor\, so lots of room for everyone and tons of room to dance. \nAll families are welcome\, as this is an incredibly kid friendly event. \nFor other free family-focused ¡Globalquerque! action\, check out the free Global Fiesta HERE. \nWe do need people to register though so we can plan accordingly.
