New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus presents NakedMan

7:30 pm New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus presents the New Mexico premiere of NakedMan, a 16-movement song cycle about gay men’s lives, and the bravery required to love authentically and without shame. Over sixty gay men were interviewed about their experiences coming out, finding love, facing discrimination, serving in the military, wrestling with religion, losing loved ones, and accepting themselves. Have fun with instruments for toddlers at this family-friendly event! Arte Poquito is a free, monthly, 45-minute program for infants ages 0 to 18 months and caregivers that nurtures creativity and provides bilingual introductory arts experiences balanced with social interaction. 8:00 pm NHCC & Melaza Music Present Live Pop Up Salsa 2: End of Summer Night Swing. This night offers a MainStage showcase of some of New Mexico’s hardest working dancers, dance teachers, choreographers, and dance students, who may not have opportunities to demonstrate their art. The evening begins with an hour of dance shows in the Albuquerque Journal Theatre. 10:00 am Children 18 months to 4 years explore the arts through singing bilingual Spanish/English songs using rhythm instruments for accompaniment and a floor piano pad keyboard for toddlers.  Explorar las Artes is a free, bi-monthly 45-minute program for toddlers ages 18 months to 4 years and caregivers that cultivates creativity and self-expression through the exploration of Hispanic/Latine arts and culture. Participants explore the NHCC museum and engage in artmaking, music, movement, dance, drama, and bilingual story time.
