7:30 pm Raised in Havana, award-winning Afro-Cuban singer-songwriter Daymé Arocena has quickly become the voice for a new generation of talented Cuban millennials who are reimagining their African roots through a lens that filters jazz, Cuban neo-soul, funk, and hip hop. Founded in 1988, DanzAbierta (translated as “open dance”) is a pioneer in Cuba’s avant-garde dance movement. ¡Globalquerquito! – A mini-fest for Albuquerque School Kids

10 am We'd like to let you in on a little secret. Each year, ¡Globalquerque! kicks off with a free concert for our local school kids. This mini-fest features two of our regular performers doing short sets as a way to introduce the kids to some cool different cultures. This year the participating bands are Trad.Attack! 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm Salud y Sabor, a partnership between the Agri-cultura Network, Street Food Institute, and the NHCC, is a free evening of food, art, and entertainment aimed at providing families with an opportunity to connect around nutrition, cooking, healthy lifestyles, and culture. Once a month, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh, locally grown ingredients, as well as fun art activities for kids and adults, health screenings, and live entertainment.
