Based on the true-life experiences of poet Jimmy Santiago Baca\, the film focuses on Chicano step-brothers Paco and Cruz\, and their biracial cousin Miklo. Bound by Honor follows their intertwining lives from 1972 to 1984\, when they start out as members of a street gang in East Los Angeles. As dramatic incidents occur\, their lives and friendships are forever changed. Bound by Honor was filmed in 1991 throughout the Spanish-speaking areas of Los Angeles and inside California’s San Quentin State Prison. \nDirected by Taylor Hackford | 1993 | 180 minutes | English | Rated R (strong violence\, language\, sex and drug content.) \nFree Community Event\, generously supported by Bank of America.
