DESCRIPTION:The National Hispanic Cultural Center offers a variety of field trip opportunities for students of all ages and abilities. We include home school\, public\, charter\, private schools\, Girl Scouts\, Boy Scouts\, Senior Centers and other organizations. \nWe offer local and international\, culturally engaging theatre\, music\, dance\, and art making experiences that provide a rich fieldtrip experience. Taught chess as a child by his older brother\, he was a phenom-prodigy\, winning competitions and eventually helping form a chess club for underprivileged kids in his community called The Eastern Knights. The ghost of a woman who died while crossing the border haunts the unwilling heroine Juanita\, the wife of a U.S. Border Patrolman. Juanita finds herself torn between the law of man and a higher law when she must decide whether or not to put her husband’s career and their marriage at risk in order to give the restless spirit the proper burial it demands. \nThis production is a world premiere and part of the Latina/o Theatre Commons’ El Fuego Initiative.
