This story of coming of age in Hispanic New Mexico\, a “Latino version of Tom Sawyer\,” is based on real-life events. DESCRIPTION:7:30 pm \nDave Mason\nFeelin’ Alright Tour 2019\nIntroducing\nGretchen Rhodes \nRock and Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason has been performing live shows for over 50 years. What keeps audiences coming back year after year is his authentic approach to performing and the loyal presentation of his music. Mason often says\, “There are no old songs\, only good songs.” His love for the songs he works into his set list is evident\, and his enthusiasm for music is contagious. Audiences always leave his shows upbeat\, happy\, and inspired. \n$34 to $74 depending on where you sit int he theatre;  \nDave Mason is offering a VIP meet-and-greet package for $130. A limited number of these packages are available\, through the NHCC box office only (in person or by phone at 505-724-4771). Patrons must buy a ticket as well as the meet-and-greet pass in order for the pass to be valid. \n\nMason’s Feelin’ Alright Tour will feature all the classic songs fans love such as “Only You Know and I Know\,” “We Just Disagree\,” “Every Woman\,” “All Along the Watchtower\,” “Rock ‘n’ Roll Stew\,” and\, of course\, “Feelin’ Alright.” In addition\, you will hear songs that have inspired him as well as personal stories about rock music that only can be told by a man who has walked that historical path. Mason is a legendary classic rock artist\, and will be joined by his band: Johnne Sambataro on guitar and vocals\, Alvino Bennett on drums\, Anthony Patler on bass\, keyboards and vocals\, and Gretchen Rhodes on vocals. \nBest known for his soulful voice and unsurpassed guitar playing\, Dave Mason was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a founding member of the group Traffic\, and continues performing as a solo artist with sold-out shows. His career spans several important rock eras\, and encompasses his work as a producer\, performer\, songwriter\, and consummate guitarist. SUMMARY:Opera Southwest Presents Bottesini’s Alì Babà
DESCRIPTION:October 20\, 25 & 27\, 2019\n2 pm—Sundays\n7:30 pm—Friday \nOpera Southwest presents Alì Babà\, a fully staged opera with orchestra\, sung in Italian with English translation supertitles and presented in three acts with one intermission. With a libretto based on “Alì Babà and the Forty Thieves\,” the well-known and lively story from One Thousand and One Nights\, Alì Babà was composed by Giovanni Bottesini\, an Italian composer and double bass virtuoso known as the “Paganini of the bass.” \n$19\, $39\, $59\, $79\, $99; discounts for groups of eight or more and patrons 30 and younger \n \nThe opera premiered in 1871 in London\, with considerable acclaim and numerous performances. Later\, however\, the score was lost\, and it has not been heard in well over a century.
