10 am to 4 pm The first Sunday of every month the NHCC Art Museum is free to all New Mexico residents. Visit exhibitions such as: Aquí Estamos: New Selections from the Permanent Collection, Southwest of Eden: The Art of Adam and Eve, and Mira Mira on the Wall: Reflecting on 20 Years of NHCC Exhibitions. Reserve tickets for the free first Sunday of the month early by clicking on the link below. All visitors and employees will be required to wear masks or cloth face coverings at all times.
The Bosque Gallery at the NHCC Is an outdoor exhibition space opening on October 23. The open-air gallery will consist of 31 panels measuring 48 inches by 60 inches each, mounted on 730 feet of fencing along the western border of the NHCC campus, facing the Paseo del Bosque Trail. In celebration of the NHCC’s 20th anniversary, the first exhibition presented along the open-air Bosque Gallery will be ¡Mira! Today we are inspired by “A Slice of American Pie,” by artist Luis Eligio Tapia. This piece is part of our permanent collection funded through the Art in Public Places Program of New Mexico Arts, a division fo the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs. In 2017, during our family art making summer program, participants were inspired by Luis’ painted Cadillac and created their own designs for artistic cars. “¡Mira! Nuestra Arquitectura: An Architectural Journey” An architectural history of the NHCC, in celebration of our 20th anniversary. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the National Hispanic Cultural Center, the History and Literary Arts program presents “¡Mira! Nuestra Arquitectura: An Architectural Journey,” an architectural history of the Center’s past, present and future. This exhibit consists of text, sketch drawings, blueprints, maps, and photographs exploring Hispanic/Latinx culture and heritage as expressed through the buildings and landscape of the Center.
