Film: ¡Las Sandinistas!

Film: Con el viento/Facing the Wind

7 pm Con el viento honors the filmmaker’s grandparents’ village, and the disappearance of its culture with their passing, while examining the issue of uprooting in all its complexity. After 20 years away in Buenos Aires, Mónica, a dancer and choreographer, receives a call that her father is dying and must return to the remote village in Burgos, Spain, where she was born. 6 pm The Miss New Mexico Latina and Miss Teen New Mexico Latina pageants are the preliminaries to the national Miss U.S. Latina and Miss Teen U.S. Latina pageants—the most prestigious and famous pageant system in the world for U.S. Latinas, as well as the longest-running. Miss Latinita New Mexico (Rental)

12 pm Miss Latinita New Mexico is the most prestigious and famous pageant system in New Mexico for little girls between 3 and 13 years old. Summer Institute Performances: Circo Latino 2019

Thursday at 5 pm Friday at 10 am The NHCC’s Summer Institutes—Circo Latino, the Manoa Project, and Voces— come see young artists, ages 8-13, present an original show featuring trapeze, juggling, stilting, acrobatics, clowning, live music, and more. Free event with a suggested donation of $5 Deep gratitude to our sponsors who make the program possible: The McCune Foundation, Nusenda, City of Albuquerque Urban Enhancement Fund, Department of Cultural Affairs, Vintage Albuquerque, and the U.S. Forest Service.
