10 am Jesús Muñoz is recognized for his deep understanding of cante flamenco and his improvisational control over rhythm. His company is known internationally for its dedication to preserving the traditional improvisational philosophy of flamenco dance and music. This is a free event with registration. Education Guide: Field Trip Opportunities

The National Hispanic Cultural Center offers a variety of field trip opportunities for students of all ages and abilities. We include home school, public, charter, private schools, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Senior Centers and other organizations. We offer local and international, culturally engaging theatre, music, dance, and art making experiences that provide a rich fieldtrip experience. ¡Vamos al Museo!

10:30 am to 12:30 pm The National Hispanic Cultural Center is pleased to offer children’s programming on the first Saturday morning of every month. This is a fun and engaging docent and artist-led family program.  Families (limited to 25 participants) get a 30-minute museum tour focused on an art form, source inspiration, artist or type of material.  Following the tour, the whole family can create their own artwork in the Pete V. 6 pm & 8 pm This Friday, July 15th at 6pm or 8pm join the members of NHCC’s Summer Institute Circo Radical for a live circus arts performance, “La Vuelta”.  Circo Radical is the 4th program of our Summer Institutes and pairs advanced circus arts students with our team of professional circus artists and musicians. 8 pm The NHCC’s Summer Institutes—Circo Latino, the Manoa Project, and Voces—are presenting performances based on the exhibit The House on Mango Street:  Artists Interpret Community and Sandra Cisneros’ book of the same name. Join the Manoa Project Teen Ensemble for a stirring performance inspired by themes of family, community, identity, and home. The fully produced original show was written and created by a group of theatre students who have trained and worked together over four weeks. $12 w/ $2 discount for students

7 pm The NHCC’s Summer Institutes—Circo Latino, the Manoa Project, and Voces—are presenting performances based on the exhibit The House on Mango Street:  Artists Interpret Community and Sandra Cisneros’ book of the same name. Join Voces for a stirring performance inspired by themes of family, community, identity, and home—appropriate for all ages.  Students from the Voces writing program will perform selected pieces from their month of intensive writing, exploring their own inner voices as well as the themes from the exhibit and novel. Thursday—5:30 pm Friday—10:30 am The NHCC’s Summer Institutes—Circo Latino, the Manoa Project, and Voces—are presenting performances based on the exhibit The House on Mango Street:  Artists Interpret Community and Sandra Cisneros’ book of the same name. Join Circo Latino for a stirring performance inspired by themes of family, community, identity, and home—appropriate for all ages.
