7:00 pm: Social Justice Film Screening, Panel Discussion to immediately follow. More than 500,000 people experience homelessness every night in America. Lead Me Home is a documentary short that tells a few of these real-life stories giving the audience a rare, in-depth look at the scale, scope, and diversity of what it means to be unsheltered today while calling into question uninformed attitudes and outmoded policies. 10:00 am Arte Poquito is a free, monthly, 45-minute program for babies and toddlers ages 0 months to 4 years and their caregivers that cultivates creativity and self-expression through the exploration of Hispanic/Latine arts and culture. Participants explore the NHCC Museum and Performing Arts Center, and engage in artmaking, music, movement, dance, drama, and bilingual story time. Into the Hourglass: Paño Arte from the Rudy Padilla Collection is an exhibition celebrating paños as an art form and the contributions of incarcerated artists to the broader fields of Chicano and American art. Early Childhood Bilingual Storytime: The Very Hungry Caterpillar/La Oruga Muy Hambrienta

10:00 am Head to the Center for our next Early Childhood Bilingual Storytime, featuring The Very Hungry Caterpillar/La Oruga Muy Hambrienta, by Eric Carle! This much-loved children’s book tells the story of a tiny caterpillar who is born hungry and eats everything in sight over the course of a week. Free community event.
