6 pm to 8 pm The Piñata Exhibit (Sure to be a Smash Hit!) celebrates this popular art form with over 175 examples from Mexico, California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas and New Mexico. Traditional and iconic works, alongside creations by contemporary piñata artists, illustrate how piñatas maintain their historical and social importance while also reflecting transnational shifts in popular, political, and visual culture. Spanish Cooking Classes: Paella!

6 pm There are national dishes that are universally appreciated, and paella, from the Spanish gastronomic tradition, is undeniably one of them. Instituto Cervantes Albuquerque, in partnership with the National Hispanic Cultural Center and Pop Fizz, presents a new Spanish cooking class in the series of monthly classes that we have been presenting since 2013.
