By Rudolfo Anaya 10 am Rudolfo Anaya, acknowledged as the foremost author of New Mexican Hispanic culture and folkways and acclaimed as the founder of modern Chicano literature, has written over 40 books and plays; this is his first play. His exploration of the Mesoamerican legend of La Llorona, the “Wailing Woman,” gives both historic and human depth to the well-known myth. Presented in partnership with Teatro Nuevo México. The National Hispanic Cultural Center offers a variety of field trip opportunities for students of all ages and abilities. We include home school, public, charter, private schools, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Senior Centers and other organizations.
