Cervantes & Don Quixote Exhibition Opening
Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM2 pm to 5 pm Instituto Cervantes presents an exhibition in four parts, paying homage to Miguel de Cervantes, the famous author of Don Quixote de la Mancha, and commemorating the 400th anniversary of his death. The first part, “Quijotes del celuloide,” displays posters from various movies made about Don Quixote over the years. Awards Ceremony: Cervantes Drawing Contest for Students
Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM3 pm to 4 pm Instituto Cervantes, the National Hispanic Cultural Center, and the Education Office-Embassy of Spain present the awards for a student drawing contest to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes, author of Don Quixote. Students in three age categories, ages 6-8, 9-11, and 12-15 were invited to submit original drawings depicting any subject matter relating to either Don Quixote or Miguel de Cervantes. Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM10:30 am to 12:30 pm The National Hispanic Cultural Center is pleased to offer children’s programming on the first Saturday morning of every month. This is a fun and engaging docent and artist-led family program. Families (limited to 25 participants) get a 30-minute museum tour focused on an art form, source inspiration, artist or type of material. First Friday: Docent Education and Conversation

Indigenous Comic Con

From November 18 through November 20, the Duke City will welcome Indigenous artists, creators, and designers from the worlds of comic books, games, sci-fi/fantasy, film, and television to share their art and expertise with a general audience and the Native/Indigenous community. Salud y Sabor: Honduras
Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM5:30 pm -- 7:30 pm Salud y Sabor, a partnership between the Agri-cultura Network, Street Food Institute, and the NHCC, is a free evening of food, art, and entertainment aimed at providing families with an opportunity to connect around nutrition, cooking, healthy lifestyles, and culture. Once a month, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh, locally grown ingredients, as well as fun art activities for kids and adults, health screenings, and live entertainment. Día de los Muertos: Despedida
Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM5 pm to 7 pm Día de Muertos is an annual traditional holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and many Hispanic communities. Join the NHCC and experienced, knowledgeable local artists to learn about the meaning of this celebration, the traditional arts and crafts associated with the celebration and development of ofrendas that honor families and individuals.
