Salud y Sabor: Costa Rica

5:30 pm -- 7:30 pm Salud y Sabor, a partnership between the Agri-cultura Network, Street Food Institute, and the NHCC, is a free evening of food, art, and entertainment aimed at providing families with an opportunity to connect around nutrition, cooking, healthy lifestyles, and culture. Once a month, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh, locally grown ingredients, as well as fun art activities for kids and adults, health screenings, and live entertainment. 10:30 am -- 12 pm The National Hispanic Cultural Center is pleased to offer children’s programming on Saturday mornings during June, July, and half of August, from 10:30 am to noon. Families can come to the Center for hands-on art activities, bilingual sing-alongs, outdoor activities in the bosque, and story times in the Center’s library. Spanish Cooking Classes: Tapas!

Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM

6 pm The purpose of Instituto Cervantes’ Spanish Cooking Classes is to learn to cook typical dishes from Spain, always using fresh local ingredients from New Mexico. All attendees will have the opportunity to prepare these dishes from scratch. During the Tapas! class, participants can learn Spanish as well. Our chef is from Spain, and the class is taught in Spanish and translated into English. Tapas, the theme for this month’s class, are one of the best-known appetizers in Spain, combining a variety of ingredients and flavors. (more...)
