The process of choosing these musical heroes begins each year with the New Mexico Music Hall of Fame Awards Committee asking New Mexico citizens to nominate artists and innovators they thought should be so honored. Colcha Community Stitch A-Long

This workshop is instructed by Annette Gutierrez-Turk. Annette has taught colcha, a Spanish Colonial embroidery style, to groups internationally and at the NHCC for many years. She is also an award-winning artist, most recently recognized in 2019 at Traditional Spanish Market in Santa Fe. Annette will demonstrate as well as answer questions. A basic printmaking process in which an image is created by rolling or painting with inks directly onto a plate and printed onto paper. Usually only one impression is pulled. In this workshop, we will explore various ways of applying inks and paints to create unique images. Gelli Plate/Monotype is a basic printmaking process in which an image is created by rolling or painting with ink or paints directly onto a plate and printed onto paper. We will be using gelli plates, which have many possibilities and can be used with a variety of media such as ink pads, watercolor and acrylic paints.
