Chatter: Become Ocean
Roy E. Disney Center for Performing Arts: Albuquerque Journal Theatre 1701 4th St SW, Albuquerque, NM3:00 pm Chatter presents its first full orchestral concert in partnership with the Albuquerque Youth Symphony. The program features Become Ocean by John Luther Adams, a Pulitzer Prize– and Grammy Award–winning composition known for its vast, immersive soundscape that evokes the rising sea. Paired with it is John Coolidge Adams’ Son of Chamber Symphony, a kinetic and rhythmically charged work originally commissioned for the San Francisco Ballet. Arte Para Chiquitos
10:00 am NHCC | Pete V. Domenici Education Building Arte para chiquitos is a free, monthly, 45-minute program for babies and toddlers ages 0 months to 4 years and their caregivers that cultivates creativity and self-expression through the exploration of Hispanic/Latine arts and culture. Participants explore the NHCC Museum, Performing Arts Center, and engage in artmaking, music, movement, dance, drama, and bilingual story time. NHCC instructors model age-appropriate arts techniques that celebrate self-expression, build vocabulary, and strengthen both fine-motor and gross-motor skills in a fun environment. Saturday Special- Torreón Tour: Mundos de Mestizaje
NHCC Torreón 1701 4th street SW, Albuquerque, NM, United States11:00 am In addition to our regularly scheduled Thursday and Friday Torreón Tours, the National Hispanic Cultural Center now has a newly added Saturday Tour on the second Saturday of every month. This is a guided tour of the Mundos de Mestizaje fresco created by artist Frederico Vigil, located in the Torreón on the NHCC Campus, depicting thousands of years of Hispanic culture, history, and identity.
