Financial Workshops for Creatives: Financial Literacy!

NHCC Campus 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM

1 pm to 3 pm - Online via Zoom Led by Rachael Gilman, Training & Development Manager at Homewise, this workshop will cover budgeting, goal setting and debt reduction, using the curriculum that Homewise has designed specifically for creatives. Art Project: Sombra

NHCC Campus 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM

  Today we are inspired by three artists,Cristina González, Jacob Sisneros and Paula Castillo. These artists have created large metal sculptures that create beautiful shadows and can be found on the NHCC campus. We hope their use of shapes and the sun inspire you to create your own sombra art! Make something! We are inspired by Straw Appliqué. This art form can be as simple or as complex as you want and it is always beautiful. Premiere: K-12 Social Studies and Language Arts Educational Curriculum for “Mundos de Mestizaje”

5 pm Link Available HERE The History and Literary Arts program presents the premiere of a K-12 social studies and language arts educational curriculum inspired by "Mundos de Mestizaje," the buon fresco masterpiece on the NHCC campus by artist Frederico Vigil. By engaging with images and video of the fresco online, children and young adults, anywhere, are able to explore history, geography, civics, government, literature, and economics through lesson plans and activities. The program encompasses the cultural soul that is our jewel - the National Hispanic Cultural Center. This year we are celebrating all 27 Spanish speaking countries.
