Colcha Community Stitch A-long
Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM9:30 am in-person 10:30 am Zoom Our Colcha Community Stich-A-Long is open to all levels of experience in an informal setting. This workshop is instructed by Annette Gutierrez-Turk. Annette has taught colcha, a Spanish Colonial embroidery style, to groups internationally and at the NHCC for many years. She is also an award-winning artist, most recently recognized in 2019 at Traditional Spanish Market in Santa Fe. Annette will demonstrate as well as answer questions. Saturday Special: Torreón Tour: Mundos de Mestizaje
NHCC Torreón 1701 4th street SW, Albuquerque, NM, United States11:00 am The National Hispanic Cultural Center is offering a special Saturday guided tour of the Mundos de Mestizaje fresco created by artist Frederico Vigil. Tours of the fresco are offered on Thursdays and Fridays at 11am. We will have a special Saturday tour instead of the Thursday tour on the second week of every month. Located in the Torreón on the NHCC Campus, Mundos de Mestizaje depicts thousands of years of Hispanic culture, history, and identity. Bring whatever knitting, crocheting, weaving, or cross stitch, or fiber art projects you’re working on, and join the conversation with your fellow crafters for an informal craft get-together.
