Education Guide: Field Trip Opportunities

The National Hispanic Cultural Center offers a variety of field trip opportunities for students of all ages and abilities. We include home school, public, charter, private schools, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Senior Centers and other organizations. We offer local and international, culturally engaging theatre, music, dance, and art making experiences that provide a rich fieldtrip experience. ¡Vamos al Museo!

10:30 am to 12:30 pm The National Hispanic Cultural Center is pleased to offer children’s programming on the first Saturday morning of every month. This is a fun and engaging docent and artist-led family program.  Families (limited to 25 participants) get a 30-minute museum tour focused on an art form, source inspiration, artist or type of material.  Following the tour, the whole family can create their own artwork in the Pete V. Opening Reception: Community Seed Murals Exhibit

5:30 pm to 7:30 pm Avokado Artists & SEEDS: A Collective Voice are partnering with the Education Department at The National Hispanic Cultural Center bringing together, in one space, all of the seed murals they have created with several thousand community members across New Mexico, perhaps you!! Salud y Sabor: Venezuela

5:30 pm -- 7:30 pm Salud y Sabor, a partnership between the Agri-cultura Network, Street Food Institute, and the NHCC, is a free evening of food, art, and entertainment aimed at providing families with an opportunity to connect around nutrition, cooking, healthy lifestyles, and culture. Once a month, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh, locally grown ingredients, as well as fun art activities for kids and adults, health screenings, and live entertainment.
