10:30 am -- 12 pm The National Hispanic Cultural Center is pleased to offer children’s programming on Saturday mornings during June, July, and half of August, from 10:30 am to noon. Families can come to the Center for hands-on art activities, bilingual sing-alongs, outdoor activities in the bosque, and story times in the Center’s library. On July 9th, Cantando la Cultura will offer a discovery of instruments and sounds of Puerto Rico with Tony Quiñones. 6 pm & 8 pm This Friday, July 15th at 6pm or 8pm join the members of NHCC's Summer Institute Circo Radical for a live circus arts performance, "La Vuelta". Circo Radical is the 4th program of our Summer Institutes and pairs advanced circus arts students with our team of professional circus artists and musicians. Over the course of 2 weeks this diverse group of artists ranging in age from 13-36 has developed a dynamic show exploring themes of identity and belonging. 5:30 pm -- 7:30 pm Salud y Sabor, a partnership between the Agri-cultura Network, Street Food Institute, and the NHCC, is a free evening of food, art, and entertainment aimed at providing families with an opportunity to connect around nutrition, cooking, healthy lifestyles, and culture. Once a month, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh, locally grown ingredients, as well as fun art activities for kids and adults, health screenings, and live entertainment.
