• Summer Institute Performances: Circo Latino

    Thursday—5 pm Friday—10 am The NHCC’s Summer Institutes—Circo Latino, the Manoa Project, and Voces— come see young artists, ages 8-13, present an original show featuring trapeze, juggling, stilting, acrobatics, clowning, live music, and more, exploring themes of community, agriculture, farming and our relationship with nature as presented in the NHCC Art Museum exhibit Outstanding in His Field: San Ysidro—Patron Saint of Farmers.     7 pm The NHCC’s Summer Institutes—Circo Latino, the Manoa Project, and Voces— students from the Voces writing program will perform selected pieces from their month of intensive writing that explore their own inner voices and the themes of community, agriculture, farming and our relationship with nature represented in the NHCC Art Museum’s current exhibit Outstanding in His Field: San Ysidro—Patron Saint of Farmers.     10:30 am to 12 pm The National Hispanic Cultural Center is pleased to offer free children’s programming during the summer. During June, July, and the first Saturday in August, families will be able to come to the Center on Saturday mornings for hands-on art activities, bilingual sing-alongs, outdoor activities in the Bosque and to explore the science of cooking on a rotating basis. The first Saturday of each month, Vamos al Museo will offer hands-on art presented by a visual artist in conjunction with a visit to (more...)

  • Circo Radical “Las Memorias de las Lobas”

    5:30 pm Presented by Nusenda Credit Union, the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s  Circo Radical Ensemble is delighted to invite you to their original performance, “Las Memorias de las Lobas.”  This new, multi-generational circus performance is built by 10 advanced circus students along with 10 professional circus artists who work together intensively over 10 days to conceptualize, train, research, design, and develop new work using stilts, live music, juggling, aerials, clown and mask. “Las Memorias” is inspired by the legend of La Loba from the Pueblo people.  La (more...)

  • ¡Globalquerquito! – A mini-fest for Albuquerque School Kids

    10 am We'd like to let you in on a little secret. Each year, ¡Globalquerque! kicks off with a free concert for our local school kids. This mini-fest features two of our regular performers doing short sets as a way to introduce the kids to some cool different cultures. This year the participating bands are Trad.Attack!
