  • Opening Reception for El Perú: Art in the Contemporary Past

    Join us on Friday, September 6 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm to celebrate the opening of our newest exhibition, El Perú: Art in the Contemporary Past. The event is free and open to the public. El Perú: Art in the Contemporary Past, aims to break down stereotypes of what visitors expect to see in a “Peruvian art exhibit.”  The exhibit celebrates the work of  artists Baldomero Alejos (1924-1976) a photographer from Ayacucho; Ana de Orbegoso, a multimedia artist inspired by the Cuzco School, Pre-Colombian pottery and Peruvian history and identity; (more...)

    12 pm to 5 pm A Vision of History through Fresco… Mundos de Mestizaje by Frederico Vigil is a mural housed in the Torreón on the campus of the National Hispanic Cultural Center. This monumental fresco depicts thousands of years of Hispanic history highlighting diverse cultural connections between people and places from the Iberian Peninsula to the Americas.     Call for Entries! Día de los Muertos Community Ofrenda Exhibit 2019 Each year the National Hispanic Cultural Center works with schools and community organizations to host an exhibit of ofrendas (altars) in celebration of Día de los Muertos Ofrendas will be placed in the Domenici Education Building and the Roy E. Disney Performing Arts Center. Due to limited availability, the NHCC cannot accommodate all requests for tables.
