Chatter: Become Ocean

3:00 pm Chatter presents its first full orchestral concert in partnership with the Albuquerque Youth Symphony. The program features Become Ocean by John Luther Adams, a Pulitzer Prize– and Grammy Award–winning composition known for its vast, immersive soundscape that evokes the rising sea. Paired with it is John Coolidge Adams’ Son of Chamber Symphony, a kinetic and rhythmically charged work originally commissioned for the San Francisco Ballet. 2:00 pm Opera Southwest Presents: The New Mexico Symphonic Chorus Mozart – Mass in C Minor, K. 427 Symphony No. 40 in G Minor, K. 550 (Sung in Latin and performed in original languages) Two pillars of Mozart’s mature style: one sacred, one symphonic. Modeled on the grandeur of Bach’s Mass in B Minor and the Salzburg ceremonial tradition, Mozart’s Mass in C Minor blends contrapuntal rigor with operatic brilliance.
