NHCC Fall Film Series: Las Tres Sisters

7:00 pm The NHCC Fall Film Series features Hispanic filmmakers that preserve our stories, promote our experiences and advance the vast cultural identity of our gente. This film series kicks off with Las Tres Sisters (2025) on Thursday, Sept. 11. Following in the footsteps of their beloved grandmother, three Mexican-American sisters take an adventure through Mexico to complete a traditional pilgrimage and repair their relationship (IMDB). Saturday Special- Torreón Tour: Mundos de Mestizaje

11:00 am In addition to our regularly scheduled Thursday and Friday Torreón Tours, the National Hispanic Cultural Center now has a newly added Saturday Tour on the second Saturday of every month. This is a guided tour of the Mundos de Mestizaje fresco created by artist Frederico Vigil, located in the Torreón on the NHCC Campus, depicting thousands of years of Hispanic culture, history, and identity. 10:00 am NHCC | Salón Ortega Join us as we celebrate the launch of a new book by author A. Gabriel Melendez, Citizens by Treaty/Ciudadanos por tratado, with a writing workshop on Saturday, Sept. 13. Melendez’s book gathers works produced by Spanish-speaking people of Mexican descent who became US citizens by virtue of the Treaty of Guadalup Hidalgo (1948) and whose ancestors had resided in New Mexico, Arizona, California, Texas, and Colorado for hundreds of years. Bilingual Storytime is designed for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers.
