Festival Chispa Presents: Inti-Illimani

The third book in Blea’s “Suzanna” trilogy, Beneath the Super Moon follows Suzanna Montoya from the mid-1960s, in the early days of the Chicano Movement, as she has settled in the city, developed a critical consciousness, and begun to address urban concerns about race, class, and gender. Second Cervantes Drawing and Painting Contest for New Mexico Students

All drawings and paintings must be sent by 5 pm on November 27 Instituto Cervantes, the National Hispanic Cultural Center, and the Spanish Resource Center are organizing a student drawing and painting contest to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the creation of Pablo Picasso’s Guernica and to celebrate the exhibition El Prado in Santa Fe—the U.S. debut of 92 full-scale reproductions of some of the greatest masterpieces from Madrid’s Museo del Prado. ¡Salud y Sabor! Día de los Muertos/México

5:30 pm to 7:30 pm Salud y Sabor, a partnership between the Agri-cultura Network, Street Food Institute, and the NHCC, is a free evening of food, art, and entertainment aimed at providing families with an opportunity to connect around nutrition, cooking, healthy lifestyles, and culture. Once a month, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh, locally grown ingredients, as well as fun art activities for kids and adults, health screenings, and live entertainment.
