    7:30 pm—Saturday 2 pm—Sunday Bank of America Theatre—Saturday; Visual Arts Sculpture Garden—Sunday Argentina’s Luis Luján and Andrea Mottura perform timeless classics in Spanish, English, and Italian, as well as the duo’s original compositions, with guitar accompaniment by Luis.   • Making Art: Día de los Muertos Workshop

  • Día de los Muertos Exhibition – Call for Entries

    10 am to 5 pm Each year the Education Department at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, works with schools and community organizations, to host an Ofrenda (altar) Exhibit, in celebration of Día de los Muertos. Your altar Installation dates are October 12-14, 2016 The exhibit runs October 18-November 11, 2016 Please provide your own tables, boxes or structure for you Altar.   • K-12 Educator’s Workshop: Día de los Muertos: Papel Picado, Shrines, and Sugar Skulls

    5 pm to 8 pm Join the UNM Latin American & Iberian Institute and the National Hispanic Cultural Center for a free professional development workshop for K-12 educators focused on Día de los Muertos.  Led by artist and educator Arturo Olivas, participants will learn the history behind papel picado, shrines, and sugar skulls, before delving into hands-on instruction in all three elements. Certificates of professional development, refreshments, and supplies will be provided to participants.   • Chispa: Latin Diva Series, Las Migas

    Roy E. Disney Center for Performing Arts: Albuquerque Journal Theatre 1701 4th St SW, Albuquerque, NM

    7:30 pm Formed as a flamenco quartet in Barcelona in 2004, Las Migas now performs a repertoire of “Mediterranean music,” including lively Latin rhythms and pensive ballads. The members, Alba Carmona, Marta Robles, Alicia Grillo and Roser Loscos, come from four cities spanning both the geography of Spain and its cultural diversity—Barcelona, Sevilla, Córdova and Lérida.
