    Visual Arts Museum: First Sunday Free Admission

    10 am to 4 pm The first Sunday of every month the Visual Arts Museum is free to all New Mexico residents. During this time, visitors are encouraged to explore the NHCC’s Visual Arts Museum art exhibitions such as “Because It’s Time: Unraveling Race and Place in NM” and “Mira, Mira on the Wall: Reflecting on 20 Years of NHCC Exhibitions.” The number of visitors allowed into the building will be limited in accordance with the most current New Mexico Public Health Order. Reduced occupancy might result in a (more...)

    7 pm Saturday, 2 pm Sunday The Sandia Performing Arts Company (SPAC) presents the film version of their recent production of Reasons.  Directed by Ruben Muller, Reasons is the dark and disturbing story of Elvino Luis Mulares, a Mexican American World War II Army veteran who survived the war but still carries the psychological scars, spanning a 40-year period of his life as an alcoholic with a growing family in mid-century New Mexico.   • Colcha Community Stitch-Along

    1 pm (MST) Live via Zoom Our Virtual Colcha Community Workshop is open to all levels of experience in an informal setting, wherever they may reside. This workshop is instructed by Annette Gutierrez-Turk. Annette has taught this art form to groups internationally and at the NHCC for many years. She is also an award winning artist, most recently recognized in 2019 at Santa Fe Spanish Market.
