• Early Childhood Bilingual Storytime: Tía with the Tortilla

    10:00 am The art of storytelling comes to life for children ages 18 months to 4 years and their caregivers with the eerie story of "Tía with the Tortilla." Children and caregivers will have the chance to explore the story by acting out the characters, dancing La Varsoviana, and making a tortilla mask. Free community event.     11:00 am (MST) The National Hispanic Cultural Center is offering a guided tour of the Mundos de Mestizaje fresco created by artist Frederico Vigil. Tours of the fresco are offered Thursdays and Fridays at 11am. Located in the Torreón on the NHCC Campus, Mundos de Mestizaje depicts thousands of years of Hispanic culture, history, and identity. This multisensory program includes time for socializing and art exploration. Explorar Las Artes is a free, monthly, 45-minute program for children 18 months to 4 years and caregivers that nurtures creativity and provides bilingual introductory arts experiences balanced with social interaction.
