Please call the NHCC at 505-246-2261 for more information. 12 pm to 5 pm A Vision of History through Fresco… Mundos de Mestizaje by Frederico Vigil is a mural housed in the Torreón on the campus of the National Hispanic Cultural Center. This monumental fresco depicts thousands of years of Hispanic history highlighting diverse cultural connections between people and places from the Iberian Peninsula to the Americas. Composer Robert Alexander was appointed choirmaster at St. Salvator in Vienna in 1935 and served as organist at the Vienna Augustinian church. In 1939, he immigrated to New York, continuing his career. His grandson, Dr. Ron Bronitsky, lives in Albuquerque. Alexander’s striking Concerto Grosso for Strings, Op. 164 begins this program. No experience is necessary to participate in this class. 7:15 pm to 8:15 pm—Advanced Class In order to participate in this class, dancers must come to at least one 6 pm class and be familiar with the vocabulary and movement introduced in these classes. Please call the NHCC at 505-246-2261 for more information. 9 am to 5 pm The Children's Bilingual Book Festival takes place at the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) in April of each year and features K-6 books in Spanish and English and Native Languages in English. There are author readings, a book fair, student storytelling, poetry performances, workshops for teachers and parents, and art and book-related activities for all ages, including teens.
