    12 pm to 5 pm A Vision of History through Fresco… Mundos de Mestizaje by Frederico Vigil is a mural housed in the Torreón on the campus of the National Hispanic Cultural Center. This monumental fresco depicts thousands of years of Hispanic history highlighting diverse cultural connections between people and places from the Iberian Peninsula to the Americas.     History and Literary Arts Building

    Submission deadline:  10/5/18  For Día de los Muertos 2018, the NHCC will present a special ofrenda remembering lost, beloved places. Local artists are invited to create art (memorials, tributes, offerings) with accompanying writing/poetry that honors a place whose absence they mourn--whether a lost region of the Amazon, Chaco Canyon, or your abuela's kitchen. Any medium is welcome and pieces should be no larger than eight inches square. Finished work with text/poetry must be submitted by September 29.
