  • First Friday: Docent Education and Conversation

    Opening Reception: 5:30 pm History and Literary Arts Building Exhibition Dates: April 6 – October 19, 2018 Curated by Humans of New Mexico, this exhibition opens the day before our annual Recuerda a Cesar Chavez Festival and features photo portraits and first person stories of everyday New Mexicans and their experiences in social movements.   • 25th Annual César Chávez Day Fiesta

    March—10:30 am Fiesta—12 noon-4 pm Join us in honoring the life and legacy of César Chávez at the 25th annual César Chávez Day Fiesta, with a march—La Marcha de Justicia—beginning at 10:30 am at the National Hispanic Cultural Center and ending at noon on the Center’s Plaza Mayor. Following the march, the family fiesta at the Center includes poetry, dancing, community exhibits, children’s activities and games, food, and live music.     12 pm to 5 pm A Vision of History through Fresco… Mundos de Mestizaje by Frederico Vigil is a mural housed in the Torreón on the campus of the National Hispanic Cultural Center. This monumental fresco depicts thousands of years of Hispanic history highlighting diverse cultural connections between people and places from the Iberian Peninsula to the Americas.     Tonight's class is cancelled! Please join us next week.  6 pm to 7 pm Beginning and Intermediate - This class is geared for teenagers and adults. Come learn footwork, partner skills and choreography. No experience necessary. 7 pm to 8 pm Intermediate and Advanced - In order to participate in this class, dancers must know how to keep time, closed position calls, dame, enchufla, and outside turn.
