  • Arte Poquito: Arte de Bebé

    10:00 am Infants 0-18 months and their caregivers will have a chance to explore visual arts and even visit the NHCC Art Museum. This multi-sensory program includes time for socializing and art exploration. Arte Poquito is a free, monthly, 45-minute program for infants ages 0 to 18 months and caregivers that nurtures creativity and provides bilingual introductory arts experiences balanced with social interaction. Each program focuses on different aspects of Hispanic/Latine arts, including music, dance, and storytelling.     11:00 am (MST) The National Hispanic Cultural Center is offering a guided tour of the Mundos de Mestizaje fresco created by artist Frederico Vigil. Tours of the fresco are offered Thursdays and Fridays at 11am. Located in the Torreón on the NHCC Campus, Mundos de Mestizaje depicts thousands of years of Hispanic culture, history, and identity. Admission for the tour is $2 and tickets are available for advance purchase below. Tickets can also be purchased in the New Mexico Mutual Welcome Center, depending on availability.   • Early Childhood Bilingual Storytime: Tía with the Tortilla

    10:00 am The art of storytelling comes to life for children ages 18 months to 4 years and their caregivers with the eerie story of "Tía with the Tortilla." Children and caregivers will have the chance to explore the story by acting out the characters, dancing La Varsoviana, and making a tortilla mask. Free community event.
