Instituto Cervantes Albuquerque, in partnership with the National Hispanic Cultural Center, presents a new Spanish cooking class: Christmas Recipes! Come join us, and learn how to cook delicious holiday dishes to surprise your family and friends. During the class, participants can learn Spanish as well, as it is taught in Spanish and translated into English.   • Give Me Life: Iconography and Identity in East LA Murals

    2 pm to 4 pm Join author Holly Barnet-Sanchez for a presentation and book signing as she offers detailed analyses of individual East LA murals, sets them in social context, and explains how they were produced. Leading experts on mural art, Barnet-Sanchez and her co-author Tim Drescher use a distinctive methodology, analyzing the art from aesthetic, political, and cultural perspectives to show how murals and graffiti reflected and influenced the Chicano civil rights movement.
