Early Childhood Bilingual Storytime

Free Community Event, generously supported by NM Gas. Bilingual Storytime is designed for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers. For school, childcare, or homeschool groups; please reach out to the NHCC Librarian at amy.padilla@dca.nm.gov to find out about group options and available dates. We are unable to accommodate these groups during the Bilingual Storytime on third Tuesdays.
AfroMundo Festival: Together We Heal: A Community Healing Circle
Salón Ortega 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM2:00 - 4:00 pm NHCC | Salon Ortega Sacred Spring Reiki Collective will lead a healing circle for community members and organizers at the 2025 AfroMundo Festival: Troubled Territories—The Will to Heal. This session will bring people together to heal in community; reminding us that we are all connected and are stronger and wiser together. We don't have to face our fears or problems alone. Colcha Community Stitch A-long
Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM9:30 am in-person 10:30 am Zoom Our Colcha Community Stich-A-Long is open to all levels of experience in an informal setting. This workshop is instructed by Annette Gutierrez-Turk. Annette has taught colcha, a Spanish Colonial embroidery style, to groups internationally and at the NHCC for many years. She is also an award-winning artist, most recently recognized in 2019 at Traditional Spanish Market in Santa Fe. Annette will demonstrate as well as answer questions.
